July 05, 2008 - Sitio Bauno, Brgy. Bangkal, Patikul Sulu, Isara Ahajari and husband Arsaid were caught by surprised and fear when Marines barged into their house and ransacked their belongings. After the Marines left, they found out that most of their valuables were gone including the amount of 170,000 pesos set aside as a dowry for their son.

June 02, 2008 Brgy. Gawil, Kumalarang, Zambanga del Sur, Jaime Olia, Mod Kunot & Jomar Baguinda, suspected as responsible for the killings in Kumalarang, were brought inside the camp of the 53rd IB f the Philippine Army for interrogation. They were separated from each other, tortured and executed inside the camp. Olia was able to escape and reported their ordeal.

May 20, 2008 - Ticala Island , San Pablo , Zamboanga del Sur, victims of an illegal search were the families of Yasser Samal, Cader Polo, Rahmodin Calalagan, Aries Ubpon, Farida Cabaron, Hamida Asim and Babay Samal. A composite element of the PNP, 53IB Philippine Army and Navy, led by a certain Captain Michael Palermo and Dexter Dalena conducted a raid to the island believed to host bandits and rebels. They conducted illegal search to 7 houses and terrorized the residents. Pump boats belonging to 14 owners, believed to be illegal or without registration, were seized and later found out damaged.  

 April 30, 2008 - Barangay Kagay, Indanan, Sulu, the Maddan family namely: Sattari, Gapura, Adzmer and Satrina, awaken by the sound of aeriual bombing and shelling, left their home for safety. On their way down to Sitio kantukol, they encountered heavy firing by the military who mistook them as enemies.

 March 21, 2008 – Zamboanga city, Ustadz Jayton Jala Timuay was “invited” by CIDG elements while he was giving an input in the Red Cross office. Neither a warrant of arrest nor a complaint sheet has been shown to him. He was illegally detained for seven days (7) in the CIDG camp suspected as member of a terrorist group.

  February 22, 2008 - Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur, Edris Omar was harassed when a squad of 53rd IBPA had conducted an illegal search and seizure in his residence. He was suspected of hiding 15 high-powered long arms allegedly belonging to the MILF.

February 22, 2008 Barangay Nuangan, Kidapawan city, a member of the North Cotabato Ulama-Priest Federation, Ustadz Abdulhasis Hassan was seized at his house by the local police elements. He was suspected of being connected to a local terrorist group, the Al-Khobar Group, and keeping explosive components in his house.  

February 19, 2008 - Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur, Abdulkarim Manabilang, suspected as MILF member, was shot dead inside the public market in the broad daylight by unidentified assailant believed to be member of the Philippine Army 53rd IBPA. 

On a related incident, at Purok Malinawon, Ustadz Abdulcader Dacula and Hadjiri Dacula, were harassed by frequent visit of the military at their residence at nighttime. They were suspected as members of the MILF. Later they left their homes for safety.

February 17, 2008 – Barangay Piso, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental, Idarat Generoso and son Mohar were arrested along with an alleged member of the Jemaah Islamiyah at their residence by elements of the 25th IBPA under Col. Rodil. They were brought to the military camp and subjected to torture and maltreatment.  

February 4, 2008 - Brgy. Ipil, Maimbung, Jolo, 6 killed and 2 wounded when Special Warfare Group of the Philippine Navy and Light Reaction Company fired at them. Victims included a pregnant woman and children inside a wooden boat. They were fleeing from the military operation against the Abu Sayaaf group.

In a separate incident, the military rounded the civilians; firing at their houses, shouting at them to get out and forcing them with the butts of their rifles to kneel and bow down. Barangay Councilor Eldisin Hashim, after getting out of his house was hit and died instantaneously. Another victim was Ibno Wahid. He was among those whose hands were tied with plastic cuffs on their back and pushed to lie prone on the ground. He was shot in front of his wife and neighbors.

Rawina, the wife of Ibno Wahid, was taken by the military into their navy boat where she saw 4 American soldiers. She was later released in Jolo under the custody of Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan.

February 1, 2008Barangay Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, Norayna Jubael was preparing lunch, surprised, when she saw armed men surrounded her house. Without showing any search warrant, the military searched her house and left afterwards. The composite team of CAFGUs and soldiers responsible had introduced themselves coming from the 18th Infantry Battalion.

January 31, 2008 – Tulay, Zone 3, Jolo, Sulu, Hajiran Bayani Isinari was surprised when a handful of Scout rangers barged into his house. They cuffed his hands on his back and stamped him onto the floor after he was knocked down. They threatened him to death if he would not divulge where he allegedly hid his rifle. Sherina, Isinari’s daughter, upon witnessing what the military did, did not leave his father lest he would be killed. After kicking him several times on the floor, the military left him with cuffs (tuff-cuff) still on. Link to
 
January 28, 2008 Barangay Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, couple Noraji Tugonon and wife Norin together with their 1 year old child, while walking along the national highway, were fired upon by unidentified men believed to be members of the PNP. Since it was night time, accordingly, the couple were mistakenly identified as patrolling members of the MILF who are believed to be around the area. The mother and child sustained wounds but survive.

Earlier, Barajima Ali, MILF Commander, with his escort, Adjie Ambahang, went to the Mosque in Barangay Tenan, Ipil for their worship. On his way home he decided to stop by the house of Barangay Councilor Enriquez. Shortly, three vehicles arrived carrying PNP elements. A certain SPO1 Paulito Roli approached them and a warrant of arrest was presented to Ali for their arrest. Ali and Ambahang had been charged with robbery, homicide and illegal possession of firearms. They are presently detained at Sibugay Provincial jail, Ipil.

January 05, 2008 - Brgy. Baguingin, Datu Odin Sinsuat, while transporting passengers on his “habalhabal”, Aramil M. Sulaiman was flagged down by composite elements of the AFP and PNP. He was subjected to torture and presently detained at the Basilan Provincial Jail. He was accused as member of the Abu Sayyaf involved in the beheading of 10 Marines in Basilan on July 10, 2007.

January 10, 2007 – Abo Abdullah of Laya, Poblacion, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur, was abducted by the Police Mobile Force from Pagadian City. He was a suspect of a carnapping incident that happened last 2004.

January 11, 2007 - A certain Surab Abdulradzak Anok, resident of Barangay Sambulawan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao, was allegedly abducted by the elements of Task Force Tugis, a military unit of the 6th Infantry Division , Philippine Army using a military transport vehicle right in front of Advy Pawnshop along Macacua St. Cotabato City.

January 12, 2007 - Ahaddin Muhammad Husin of Barangay Muti, Zamboanga City, a habal2x driver was intercepted at the Buenavista Highway by Task Force Malagutay of the 11th DRC. He was tortured for several days and detained. He was suspected as member of the Abu Sayaaf group.

January 13, 2007 - Ismael Abu, Norodin Salik, Andy Salid and Castro Mindo Dalama were having a coffee break at Bage Restaurant when a number of police officers arrested and detained them at precinct station #04 at Manday, Barangay Bagua, Cotabato City. The were held suspects of the bombing in the Plaza that day.

January 26, 2007 – In Midsayap, North Cotabato, there were some 1,910 families or 13,000 families displaced by the firefight between the Philippine and MILF troops.
